The artistic heritage of this Venetian Palazzo features some spectacular paintings of many famous Artists of the 17th and 18th Century: Giambattista Tiepolo, Nicolò Bambini, Sebastiano Ricci, Pietro Longhi, a rare example of resistance to the passing of time.
The restoration, lasted more than seven years and supported by the Fine Arts of Venice, brought the palace back to his ancient splendour. The Sagredos were art collectors and lovers of Venice and their house still proves it.
Besides the pictures and the frescoes, the walls and the ceilings are carefully decorated with rich stuccos by two famous artists from Lugano who have been working in the Republic of Venice at the beginning of the 17th century: Abbondio Stazio and Carpoforo Mazzetti Tecalla.
The Casino on the fourth floor, the recreation place for Count Sagredo, has turned into two magnificent suites. Here the quality of the stucco works is exceptional, with different depths and soft colours, just like pastels, is the most relevant example in Venice.
In order to preserve frescoes, walls and ceilings and all the artworks, the Fine Arts Office imposes not to smoke in this National Monument.
